Pricing and subscription
How much does a personal trainer app cost?
Most coaching software charges by number of clients, between $35 and $80 a month for 20 clients. Coachigo PRO costs $6.99 a month or $40.99 a year, with a 7-day trial, however many clients you have. The free plan stays available with no time limit for 1 profile.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. There's no commitment, and you cancel from your App Store or Google Play settings. Your data stays accessible on the free plan.
Can I use Coachigo for my own training?
Yes. Pick Solo mode when you set up the app: the free plan covers one profile, yours, with no time limit. You can switch to Coach mode later in the settings.
How is it different from Trainerize, TrueCoach or Hexfit?
Those platforms are built for programming from a computer and charge by client tier. Coachigo is a mobile app made for logging the session at the gym, next to your client, at a flat price. It focuses on training: there is no built-in messaging, nutrition or payments.
Your clients
Do my clients need to pay or create an account?
No. Your clients install the app for free and enter the 6-character code you give them. They don't need an account to follow their profile.
What can my client do in a shared profile?
They log their workouts, add their measurements and photos, and follow their program. They can only edit what they entered themselves: they can't delete the history or change the program or the schedule. You can remove their access at any time, and they can leave the profile on their side.
How long is a share code valid?
7 days. You can revoke it and create a new one whenever you want: the old code stops working, and people who already joined keep their access.
Can I schedule recurring sessions?
Yes. Pick the days of the week, a time for each day, a start date and, if needed, an end date. When the schedule is linked to the client's program, each session follows the next workout in the program. You can then move, cancel or restore any session, and the calendar shows all your clients in a week or month view.
Training and programs
Can I create my own exercises?
Yes. On top of the 873 exercises in the library, you can add your own with a name, a muscle group, equipment, instructions and a photo. They also show up for the clients you share a profile with, and only you can edit them.
Can I build programs that span several weeks?
Yes. Programs are split into phases, weeks and sessions, with reusable workout templates. You can assign the same program to as many clients as you want, or duplicate it to make a variant. Your client sees their progress and their next session.
How does the rest timer work?
Set a default rest between 5 seconds and 10 minutes, or pick 1:00, 1:30, 2:00 or 3:00 in one tap. The timer starts as soon as you tick a set, alerts you with a sound and vibrations, and sends a notification when the phone is locked.
Does Coachigo work in pounds?
Yes. Choose kilograms or pounds for weights, and centimeters or feet and inches for body measurements. You can change it at any time in the settings.
How does Coachigo spot a client who is plateauing?
For each exercise, the app compares the estimated 1RM (Epley formula) of the last three weeks with the three weeks before. Below 2% progress, the exercise is flagged to watch, as mild, moderate or severe depending on how long it has been since the last record. The analysis starts after 6 sessions over 8 weeks.
Which measurements and photos can I track?
20 measurements: weight, height, body fat, muscle mass, hydration, waist, hips, chest, shoulders and neck, plus left and right arm, forearm, thigh and calf. BMI is calculated for you. For photos, there are 9 poses with an overlay of the previous photo to match the framing, and a before/after comparison you can share as a story, portrait or square image.
Devices and data
Which devices does Coachigo work on?
iPhone, Android, Apple Watch and web browser. Your data syncs across all your devices. On iPhone, four home screen widgets show your next sessions, your last session or your stats, or start a session in one tap.
Does it work without signal at the gym?
Yes. The session is saved on the phone and syncs as soon as the connection comes back. Nothing is lost if the signal drops in the basement.
Does the Apple Watch work without the iPhone?
Yes. Once the watch has synced, you can start a session from your wrist, pick the client and the workout, tick off sets and use the rest timer while your phone stays in the locker. The session is sent to the iPhone as soon as it's back in range.
Does Coachigo connect to Apple Health?
Yes, on iPhone. Each session is saved to Apple Health as a strength workout, and Coachigo shows the heart rate and calories measured by the Apple Watch during the session. Google Fit and Health Connect are not supported yet.
Do I need to create an account?
Not to get started: the app opens right away. Create an account with your email to get your data back on another device. Everything you already entered is kept.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Export the profiles of your choice to a backup file with their sessions, templates and programs, then import it back into Coachigo, for example on another account. PDF and spreadsheet exports are not available yet.
Where is my data stored, and can I delete it?
Training data is hosted in the European Union. You can delete your account from the settings: you confirm with your password, and all your data is erased within 30 days.
Is the app available in dark mode?
Yes. Choose light mode, dark mode or your phone's setting, and pick one of six accent colors. The app is available in English and French.
